At Cal Poly DxHub powered by AWS, each challenge that a customer initiates must undergo distinct stages of development. The purpose of storyboarding is to provide the customer with a visual that reiterates what the problem is, who the customer is, and how the adoption of an innovative solution can help achieve the customer's desired experience. The storyboard comes before prototyping to serve as a checkpoint to ensure that we clearly understand the customer's pain points and goals.
This particular storyboard I created illustrates the exact process which the DxHub follows when developing a solution for public sector clients.
Before I begin to digitally illustrate, I map out what content will be included in each frame, which could include sketches, written descriptions, or captions.
Sometimes I'll sketch out other details such as design ideas and roles for each character.
