I was hired to create a logo for a climate solidarity support group based out of San Luis Obispo in order to help individuals come together and ameliorate their fears about climate change through discussion and activism.
My brainstorming process consisted of:
1) research on design principles that generate feelings of support
2) research on the branding of companies that stand for sustainability
One of the first versions I created used the symbolism of a prism, as explained to the right.
Another version I created featured two hands exchanging a pinky promise, which encompassed the purpose of the support group.
In the final stages of this logo, my client asked that I incorporate both the pinkies and the prism. The 'A' in solidarity is a prism!
